Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
Two BJP workers were allegedly attacked in the Bhatpara Municipality area while returning home after completing party work, triggering fresh allegations of political violence. The incident took place in Lane No. 6 of Ward No. 9, where Dev Yadav and Ravi Verma were reportedly assaulted with bricks and stones. Both are witnesses in an NIA probe related to a bomb attack case involving Priyangu Pandey.
According to BJP workers, the attack occurred as the two were leaving Pandey’s residence after finishing party-related activities. Ravi Verma is also the driver of Priyangu Pandey’s car. Dev Yadav sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to Bhatpara State General Hospital before being shifted to Kalyani Hospital for further treatment.
Local BJP leader Ravindra Prasad Chaudhary alleged that several Trinamool miscreants carried out the attack and claimed it was a deliberate attempt to silence NIA witnesses. He further alleged that instead of registering a complaint from the victims, the police took Ravi Verma to the police station, raising questions over the handling of the incident.
